Breaking: Actor Mr Ibu Appeals for Support to Save His Legs from Amputation

Renowned Nollywood actor John Okafor, famously known as Mr. Ibu, has reached out to the Nigerian public for prayers and assistance as he grapples with an undisclosed ailment while receiving medical care at a hospital in Lagos.

Expressing his heartfelt plea, Mr. Ibu shared, “I’ve been unwell for several weeks now, and all I am asking for is your prayers and support. As I address you, I am still hospitalized. The hospital’s medical director has indicated that if his current treatment approach does not yield positive results, the last resort may involve amputating my legs. The thought of losing my legs is a distressing one. Please pray for me and call upon the Almighty to intervene. I do not wish for such a fate to befall me. Thank you, and may God bless you,” Mr. Ibu implored.

Accompanying Mr. Ibu in this earnest appeal, his wife and daughter also shared their concerns, revealing that the actor has been bedridden for the past two weeks. They have been trying to manage the medical expenses, initially believing they could handle them independently. However, with no improvement in his condition despite treatment at one of Lagos’ top private hospitals, they are now looking for a collective effort to potentially arrange for his treatment abroad.

“Individually, I’ve been attempting to cover the medical costs, thinking it was something we could manage on our own. My mother has been at his bedside, and our children are at home. However, seeing no signs of improvement, even in one of Lagos’ finest private hospitals, we believe we need to come together as a community. If possible, we would like to explore options to have him treated abroad. As a father, he has been resolute in his fight, striving to stay strong because he wants to live,” Mr. Ibu’s daughter shared.
